Apparently they've used skin cells from male mice to create eggs. When they were reprogramed into stem cells, some of them lost the Y chromosome and became XO, after which they've treated the XO cells with mitotic inhibitors to disrupt cell division in a way that would duplicate the X chromosome.
Pretty wacky, huh?
