It does matter. However, a homogeneous reverence for Christ is a good point on which people can intersect. The Lord's prayer also known as the Our Father prayer should be compatible with every Christian, from there one can determine something of a specific attitude that should be demonstrated in interfaith discussions. There's probably more to agree to disagree on then there isn't so it's good to keep in mind the few points on which all Christians can agree.
