The way the realms were presented in proto editions of AoS always reminded me of Sacrefice. It's a third person strategy, set on floating lands, which were the remnants of the old world destroyed by a powerful wizard. In that game several dieties fought between each other for influence over the lands in the form of souls and followers.
Too bad most of early art in AoS sucked ass. I would've preferred crazy chaotic landscapes over basic bitch dnd maps
