No, despite Conan technically being Cimmerian in his ancestry, the "Cimmerians" as described and shown by Robert E. Howard, were nearly completely mythical, having nothing in common with real factual historical Cimmerians. This is due to the fact that in Robert E. Howard's created universe and continuity, Cimmerians are direct descendants of Atlantis nation, of which Kull is a direct ancestor of Conan, who lived some 40000 years prior to Conan's birth. The "Cimmerian" Conan himself, as well as his tribe, apparently lived around 8000 B.C., which doesn't correspond at all to the real time frame when real Cimmerian nation was existing (waaay later).

Despite this, however, the events of Conan movie itself, the "Thal Sadoom" arc of it, ARE taking place in steppes area of Krasnodar and pre-Caucasian mountain ranges (essentially where Novorossiysk and Adler are). Basically, Robert E. Howard mixed a tiny bit of real historical truth with a whole ton of mythical magical mumbojumbo, for his fictional universe.
