Most Scott Burns-produced records used very tinny sounding amps that were partially or entirely solid state. Amps like the Valvestate and the VH140c. These records often sound very 'notched' in the upper midrange, and I suspect it's because those amps sounded harsh and needed a lot of attenuation in post. Hence the lack of crunch you hear.

No I think Skogsberg had more talent than did TÃĪgtgren or Burns. His works tend to hold up much better, they aren't tinny and clicky nonsense. Rather woody, I'd say.
