I'm going to drop a truth nuke that nobody on /v/ wants to hear but is the truth and will hear regardless.
The problem isn't with focus groups or even game developer companies. It's with the people of today. As a whole mainstream masses and people in general are just dumber and worse than the past and it just gets worse and worse so of course focus groups that should have been working in theory no longer work. It's all your faults. This applies everywhere not just video games.
