That very mega is linked in the nyaa comments of some random Raideen releases. Also the subs are still the same old shit, ARR and everything, which is probably why nobody uploaded it separately. The release on AB with Hulu video also doesn't fix the colorspace issue. I'd rather try and get star back on Raideen once Dragonar is done (it's rapidly progressing through QC rn) than upload incrementally less dogshit muxes.

There's a difference between Engrish and made-up names.
Merowlink is a made-up name. It's not related to any real word, much less an English one, as far as anyone can tell. "Mellow" is just a guess by some university student in the 80s who ran a fanzine. Tim Eldred had the name as "Melorink" for the longest time, before switching to Merowlink. For these kinds of names, you have to either go with the Japanese and what they tell you, or, when there is no reliable source, figure out what you think is most likely. That usually doesn't apply to show titles though, especially Sunrise keeps those consistent. It's more of an issue for obscure mecha or side characters. For Sunrise original shows, specifically, we always use the staff-provided romanization. Unless you want to tell me Vifam is a real word and anyone but the original creator can tell you how it's spelled.

In this case, the Japanese are 100% consistent. It's always Merowlink, be it in the show (his dogtag was designed to be in the OP, they definitely did not typo on that), on the DVD box, on merchandise, in the art book, on the official website, on fucking Wikipedia. It's as official as Char, and as official as Chirico as opposed to any other romanization of that name (Kiriko is a girl's name btw). The show never getting licensed is what makes this "argument" even real. Sunrise would insist that the show is called Merowlink in its English release, maybe even Leechers Army Merowlink (though they have been lenient with bynames in the past).
