I was just thinking this too. What if they're doing all this set up for peaceful coexistence with clear paths forward, only to just rip it out from under everyone's feet and have Liberalio in chapter 40 be right when she said that peaceful coexistence is a gamble and that we were retarded to try? What if they really are mindless killers and SKK's blind desire and drive to "save" Marian ends up causing unfathomable damage chaos? It would certainly fit the theme of despair and be a really incredible way of expanding on SKK's flaws as a person, but god knows that it's more likely that "Raptures good actually" is what they're going to go for in the end
