It's a (probably allegorical) figure from some Gnostic sects who is a personification of chaos and darkness, but not evil per se. Unintegrated and rejected it is the chaos that destroys and the weakness that tempts (Jesus's devil in the desert), integrated it is the chaotic good force of Sophia's divine darkness that cuts Christ free from the tethers of the Demiurge's false light of lawful evil order represented by Talmudic Judaism and other parasitic orthodoxy. Symbolically represented by the Black Sun which is the portal through hell back to heaven; "in order to know heaven one's riots must reach hell". This is the "spirit" that gave Templars (who worshipped Sophia under the cipher "Baphomet") the power to defend Christendom, only to be betrayed by the Papacy and the monarchies they kept alive.
Very similar in concept to Shiva and Kalki, or even Loki and Merlin.
