Radience and GMS were both actual godlike being, GMS wanted to bind and control every bug under her, nothing sympathetic in that. But the key difference is that GMS is present in the game so much more even before you finally get to her than Radience.

Just a direct example: EVERY SINGLE enemy in the game, including BOSSES are connected to GMS with an invisible thread that you can reveal with the Needolin. Every single enemy, except for Lace. Lace even on her first encounter acts completely differently, there is no threa bound to her yet the silk inside her still reacts to the music. It's an amazing piece of organic storytelling that was completely missing in the original HK except for the occasional Dream Nail lore.
