The english-speaking world is going through a collective crisis of validity. Our economies are held up by willpower and general ignorance. Our leaders are increasingly incompetent, authoritarian, beholden to holy castes no one respects, or all three. We've scuttled our current religious framework without a proper replacement causing a vacuum of belief filled poorly with 'science' as a centrist option (ie peer reviewed studies supported by legacy media) and all sorts of fucking nonsense elsewhere. Reform is essentially a non-starter, as there is no popular force in any political machine to enact said change as all are controlled top down by said holy caste mentioned earlier. Insurrectionary forces are squabbling amongst each other in the age of information that both is the fertile ground for an Enlightenment Age or even a Revival, but everyone's talking all at once and said fear of the reach of authority has everyone squabbling over the idea that everyone else is a trick.

All of that context bleeds into every and all expressions of culture so no broad topic is not a point of conflict that can be avoided by art or popular media, especially when all art is political has become a standard banner for the most radical on all sides. Roads? Political. Money? Political. Faith? Political. Travel? Political. Cartoons? POLITICAL. SEX? OH THAT'S VERY POLITICAL.

None of this is going to change any time soon, and no one is going to be happy with it until we've had a Jacobin-style force to enact so much change we're exhausted by it and we run to a palate cleansing popular autocrat (No none of the presidents in the last 100 years have been that, not even close) before a new status quo emerges and we can all just get excited for consensus-appeasing product again. So buckle in, this is what every and all threads will be like from now until that happens. Sorry that's just how the human condition works.
