>It depends on how long and how you intend to use it. If you're expecting something like the Dirt bikes of your youth, you're going to be disappointed. The 230 doesn't have the torque that you may be expecting.
I think that's reasonable. i don't know if I'd actually go to tracks, but i do miss jumping bikes and it seems like there's no shot i'd be doing any of that with a 230. i mean, a drz isn't meant for that either, but there is some more meat to it.

>It seems like you need to actually call these people and visit them, ask to see the bike, and make a decision based on the condition of the bike instead of seeing pictures.
i think you're right.

>if you're going to really stick around the idea of riding you may find the 230 lacking
i think you might be right about this too. it's probably better to set myself up with something with some headroom rather than having to sell a bike when i reach the limits and buy the thing i should have gotten in the first place.

thanks for the input. i appreciate it. before this i was really discounting the "higher miles" of the drz as being totally clapped out and worthless, but yeah reading about it it does look like you can run these things forever.

i'll make some calls this week and see what happens.
