Texas reps are attempting to redraw districts before congressional apportionment occurs 5 years from now, dems do the same shit but they do it by funneling immigrants into their districts to pad them, so when apportionment occurs normally their headcount is higher. Immigration isn't about making sure America has enough workers, it's about abusing congressional apportionment to grow your districts for control over the state and to a lesser-known extent, increase tax revenue. This was part of why Abbott sent migrants to dem cities in other states that are already liberal dem havens, doing so might increase those state's revenue but it does nothing for their control, if anything it just drains their resources by having more mouths to feed. However Abbott was acting out a role of a blind retard since he knew the dems in those cities would just ended up relocating those migrants to democrat-controlled districts within red states, that's why he is feigning panic now about redistricting in his own state.
