This actually happened in majority of my races.
Goldship got 1st 10 times, Spe got 1st 5 times. Spe got 2nd EIGHT times and keeps losing to golshi in the final stretch. I need to make a stronger Spe pronto but as a duo they're pretty good and seem to pick up the slack when the other fails.

Forgot to mention but I kept winding up with golshis with like max stamina and shit speed and power. So I borrowed MLB Super creek, ran Hishi Amazon and Vodka, and then Kita san plus tosho and taishin. Wound up with an even spread but I heard that with end closers the power is just as important with speed due to it being tied to acceleration. She's doing way better than I thought. I saw that minmaxers in open rooms were using Oguri caps ability and Maruzenskys, so I put that on all my guys except my debuffer and it really helps for the final corner. Special Week has Speed and Stamina in the high 1000s, but not over 1,100. Golshi's sub-1000 power is what's allowing her to plow through at the end. The abilities really, really help too for this track. Taiki shuttle's is also apparently really good but I don't have one of those.
