But israel already allows you to have a legal gender marker change, actually I'm pretty sure you just have full civic participation already and FFS paid for by the state. I don't see why a trans women would need to observe niddah laws when she doesn't menstruate anyway

As for caring what the Rabbinate says: who really cares, I'm not of the belief that the orthodox or the rabbinate have some monopoly over true judaism. You could find a reform or masorti synagogue that would be trans affirming without too much difficulty
