If we go by Psycholonials plot, it could be a meta thing. Those clown gods are all "succesors" who embraced their role as a clown cult leader to the very end and succeeded in their universe to spread the gospel and remain a stable leader figure. In Psycholonials, the main character, Zhen (hussies sort of self insert as a blasian zoomer homestuck fan), also Known as Z. (Get it. Zhen Z. Pronounce it Chinese if you still dont get it.)

Im ngl I really liked Psycholonials. It was an interesting read, especially when it came out, it was pretty relevant. Also the music was great.
Anyways,
Z, eventually gets overwhelmed with her role as the jubilite leader, she got herself too deep into this mess and has multiple deaths on her hands, including an innocent online simp named Percy who took a bullet for her, stupidly. She pushes through this though until the destruction threatens to affect her thicc blue haired population loving bestie who she has a complicated lesbian crush on. Now shes not so sure if she can go through with all this. Other than this though, shes handling the role perfectly and could easily see it through to the end and secure celestial immortality and guaranteed ascension to be a literal god. But she turns it down in the end because being a god isnt even fun if she cant clap fat fangirl ass. She passes on the role of leader to a mute, but scarily potent and destructive sort of mime/clown bodyguard of hers called "Mizzlebip" who eventually becomes our universes god (Nozzleburp). Lots more happens in between but thats like, the most condensed I can make it. Its worth it, definitely read it if you havent. If anything its a good look into Hussies mind and mental state.
