Another game, that did a great job creating a spooky atmosphere using only the "reality is not what it seems..." theme and a more existential sense of horror rather than "a snuff golem is chasing you with a chainsaw lol", was JAGS Wonderland. It was sort of a Hellraiser 2 affair, using surrealism and paranoia rather than body horror. I honestly dunno how a campaign in it would play out, but the books were a great read.
