I think it really is just simply that his other stories are less personal and like the other anon said, he vented it all out with Holyland. We know Mori fought a lot as a teenager and he had a long struggle with finding his place in life, eventually returning to manga after nearly dying. While Holyland isn't an autobiography, you can definitely feel it infused with the actual lived experiences of Mori in ways you can't get in his later manga that are based on more fantastical concepts.
