It's going to be a 1000 years later sequel in a different land. You might read about the war in Fodlan in some textbook and Sothis will probably bring it up a bit, but that's probably all that 3H is getting.
The story in this seems way more self contained compared to something like PoR to RD.

The introduction of any kind of water manipulation to a fictional universe always has to be heavily nerfed because of that.
I remember Avatar had an episode about someone who was a bloodbender, but you could still do way more fucked up shit if you just had the general power of "can manipulate water".
