Edelgard's route was more based around getting rid of the societal benefits from crest rather than removing crest all together wasn't it? I don't think it would be possible to fully get rid of crest outside of rounding everyone of a crest based bloodline and either killing them or making sure they never have kids, and I don't think Edelgard would do that to her friends/classmates
