True, but we don't know how long it took Blaze to find "Mr. Needlemouse" or what he was doing in Blaze's dimension up until his meeting with Blaze. Would have been a cool storyline. If only Ian planned things better and Sega was more flexible. Maybe Ian or some other writer like Barnes can convince the powers that be to cover that timeframe in an annual.

Also, Ian said he intentionally had Sonic lose his memory at the end of Metal Virus to mirror Eggman losing his memory and Mr. Tinker is officially a separate character from Eggman.
