"Richmunk" refers to Richard Kuta, an infamous SatAM fan in the late 2000s/early 2010s that wanted the games to follow the American Classic Sonic lore. For example he hated the name "Eggman", he thinks Sonic should take place on Mobius and he also hates the Modern design. He really damaged the reputation of the SatAM fanbase and even the Classic fanbase for a while especially after a video reaction he uploaded back in 2010 when the first trailer for Sonic 4 came out and he seethed at the green eyes. Though now he's mostly just associated with American classic and not JP Classic

I personally don't like the Metal variants of the cast outside of Metal Sonic. Metal Sonic managed to earn his seniority thanks to being iconic and having some personality when he can.

A character hated does not mean they are a bad character nor does it mean anyone should have to apologize for this.
While one can argue how effective Lanolin was as a contagonist, she's clearly there to be a foil for the rest of the team. The team is not Sally's team of friendship earned over time, it's a volunteer group of people who don't see eye to eye and also has a mole in their midst, anyone writing will create conflict by having the mole have someone be more on their side because that then stirs conflict between the good guys. Personally I think that Lanolin should have went further as to then create more of a divide. I don't like that she then apologizes so easily after being proven wrong, there should have been a way more shame and reluctance to admit wrong.

The problem is the opposite - Lanolin routinely ignores Whisper/Silver and the complete lack of communication between the two is the only real "catalyst" for conflict which is one of the laziest ways to do it. It sucks in every media where literally just talking would solve the issue.

That's the thing though, it's a story, where things don't happen like that. For interesting stories to happen, you have to take off the sensible brakes. What stories from your own life do you remember more, the one where your boss listened to what you had to say or the one where your boss REFUSED to listen to reason and shit went south.
Studying stories as a "That's not what I would have done" is not the point of stories. Conflict must happen because otherwise it would not be interesting. Lanolin must disregard her concerns and Whisper must get annoyed at this to make this a story worth telling. Otherwise you're telling the story of

It had already been stated that Lanolin isn't fond of the team's otherwise foolhardy approach to shit, she's going to be suspicious of their antics. Whisper will find this annoying when Lanolin doesn't immediately trust their judgement
