>I would have liked to see the Catholics contend with Persia
Catholics contended with the entire world and won. In fact the only people who could stand up were the ex-Catholic Protestants.
>the initial wave of Muslims
The Franks destroyed the Arabs, whereas the Spaniards initially lost but managed to reconquer their land over the centuries, which is something that never happened for the Orthodox.
>wave after wave of steppe nomads including the Mongols
Poland and Hungary stopped the Mongols. Poland-Lithuania also went on the offensive against them later, which is why the Tatars were limited to a pitiful strip of land along the Black Sea coast.
>Turks
The Ottomans were stopped at the borders of Austrian Croatia and Poland. In fact the only Catholic land the Ottomans managed to conquer was half of Hungary.
By the way, all the great anti-Ottoman commanders of 15th century were Catholic: Vlad Tepes, Skanderbeg, John Hunyadi, Mattias Corvinus etc.
>and your traitorous supposed brothers in faith sacking your greatest city.
LMFAO I love this meme
Byzantium were consistently sabotaging the crusader war effort, and went as far as to slaughter the Catholic civilian population just a few years before the 4th crusade.
The conquest of 1204 was caused entirely by the Byzantine usurper betraying the crusaders who put him on the throne in the first place.
It had no lasting consequences btw, the Greeks got their land back a few decades later only to do what they do best: fight civil wars, lose against the Turks, and kill their only competent generals.
>you had geography on your side
Mother Earth doesn't win wars, sweetie. Maybe if you took responsibility for your actions you wouldn't be such losers.
