Nah shits fucked. It's clear their engine can't handle large open world games because the number of loaded entities chuggs systems. If they can't/won't fix Wilds, the most recent title of their flagship franchise and the baby of the heir apparent, they won't fix the pet project of the a director who isn't even at the company anymore.
Not to say performance is the only issue (it runs decent on my machine), the game is blatantly unfinished for a sequel and doesn't live up to DD:DA. But it was the performance that killed any chance of the game having legs, and they can't fix that. Damn shame.
