Let go anon. DDII had a strong first week but sales plummeted afterwards. Bad word of mouth from performance and MTX killed the game's long term potential. Even fans are pretty divided on the game. There is no real gain for Capcom to keep focusing on DDII.

Cyberpunk was much bigger so could get away with it and take the time to get fixed/"fixed". DDII doesn't have that luxury, it never had that hype Cyberpunk did, cratered its most important window. All the shills dropped it and moved on as soon as their work with Capcom was up, newcomers dropped it because of weird design choices and performance, even many fans of the first dropped it. Capcom are going to have to do a lot of work to make DD something worthwhile but I just don't think they will. The post-launch support II had kind of shows their mindset regarding it.

DLCs and expansions sell less than the main game. Capcom would have to spend a lot of money and talent for the DLC/expansion as well as overhauling the main game content and performance wise. The latter seems impossible for Capcom judging by DDII and MH Wilds.

Nah shits fucked. It's clear their engine can't handle large open world games because the number of loaded entities chuggs systems. If they can't/won't fix Wilds, the most recent title of their flagship franchise and the baby of the heir apparent, they won't fix the pet project of the a director who isn't even at the company anymore.
Not to say performance is the only issue (it runs decent on my machine), the game is blatantly unfinished for a sequel and doesn't live up to DD:DA. But it was the performance that killed any chance of the game having legs, and they can't fix that. Damn shame.

I probably have close to 1000 hours on DD, spread across 2 consoles and a pc. It's one of my all-time favourite games, and I was not disappointed with DD2.

Dragon's Dogma IP is dead because it was Itsuno's passion project and he was clearly unhappy with Capcom's management so he left for greener pastures, japs are vindictive people and executives will absolutely pass up on potential opportunities simply because they felt "betrayed".
