No, that would be immersion.

Immersion-wise, does it make sense for your party of 7 to waltz into Moonrise like you own the place when you're supposedly on a recon mission?
Immersion-wise, does it make sense for your party of 10 to crash Gortash's coronation?
Immersion-wise, does it make sense for Orin to kidnap Yenna because your circus troupe of 11 is inseparable and that's the only target she has left?
Immersion-wise, does it make sense for your small army of 14 to say farewells to each other before Lae'zel has had enough and decides to hop on her dragon?

I'm merely copypasting what I've typed before because this is a recurring justification from cheaters like the swine. The narrative does NOT assume that your party includes every single companion (pokemon) you can find and recruit. That is merely video game convenience - Larian not wanting to impose a hard choice on the players on who to recruit and who is mutually exclusive with whom. Otherwise, you could further balloon your party with the hirelings from Withers as it would make no sense that they be "absent from the story for no reason." Your blatant disregard of the narrative is not my problem. Play the game however you want, but make no excuses about what kind of "player" you really are.
