The fight is chaos and infinitely easier in duos, and a cakewalk solo, but for the first time it can be said unironically: if you didn't beat him in trios you didn't beat the game. His fight is designed specifically for multiplayer trios.
I beat him 6 times with randoms, but lost all day yesterday. I'm always the one dying last and doing the most damage.
I think the fight has a rather large amount of unfair bullshit, but then again he's like the only boss that forces you to think about loot and upgrade you take in game, and carefully think about your relic build, which is good. I wouldn't nerf him per se but I'd boost the HP given by the NPC fragments.
