>I was being serious
Ok, then I'll get into it a bit more. Washington really didn't do anything special in their rebuild. They spent a high draft pick on a QB in a QB heavy year and Washington's management has been working on trading away the Snyder era players for draft picks and cap space (except for stars like Terry, ofc). Washington's rebuild just happen to be massively accelerated by Daniels being amazing. I've sung his praises many times, but he really is the man who makes the weather. I think if he was an average but decent QB, >we'd have hovered around 8ish wins.
As for why the Bears rebuild failed, they drafted a bad QB. We can argue about if Caleb is a bust or not until the cows come home, but he's certainly not the best QB in last year's draft. And he wasn't at the time. Even without hindsight, I think Daniels and Maye were clearly better, while Nix and Penis Jr were probably better prospects. Of course, in hindsight, Caleb might be the worst round 1 QB in his year. Why did the Bears draft a bust? Bad management. Poles being set on Caleb without even looking at other QBs is genuinely baffling.
