What is up with the original Matrix Trilogy? When the movies came out, techies said it was a Hollywood fantasy representation of computing, and that (algorithmic) computing and AI didn't work the way it's portrayed in the films. But today, it's eerily accurate in its depiction, basically, of AI artifacts, prompt injection hacks, and various other aspects of contemporary early-stage AI tech.
For example, the "deja vu" AI artifact that is a tell that they're in the matrix. This is like twinning. Or the unnatural movement of the Agents, it actually looks like a fucked up Wan gen. Or the portrayal of the "digital rain" text behind the matrix simulation, diffusion LLMs actually look like that.
Did the Wachowski brothers have some kind of secret sneak peek at top-secret military AI tech at the time?
