The problem with sociology is any major work you read in the field is a praxis. Becomes a piece of propaganda or a propagandistic entity, (egregore) a self-fullfilling prophecy. This is what a lot of psueds don't recognize about Marx and "his" most famous work in the Manifesto. The Manifesto is praxis. Is propaganda. It's not attempting to prove Marxism, it's attempting to convince wagies that Marxism is their only path to freedom. Another illusion of course, as the perfect and total entry into communist consciousness Marx envisions would be the end of all slavery AND all freedom. Would be the end of the "human condition". All this recognizable with just a little bit of knowledge of Estoterica, and the formulaic intent of the Talmud, Marx essentially being the penman of a new, ostensibly secular rabbianical cannon.

Pic utterly related. I'm like that other meme about the guy that gets kidnapped by the Irish witch. It's too late for me, and I blame you all for this terrible curse, /lit/.

This is... this is worse than being a /pol/ack...

Leftism isn't a genuine political belief system. It's better understood as a sort of social consensus. When you watch people like Jon Oliver, Maddow, Olbermann, Chunk Yogurt, Anita Sarkesian, etc. these people are never discussing labor theory or GDP or policy. Their focus is almost exclusively on how "dumb" right wingers are. The formula is pretty obvious once you notice:
>Hey see this thing?
>It's right wing.
>It's stupid! It's so stupid!
>You aren't stupid though, right?
>Of course not! You're GOOD!
They're mocking people because that's how they enforce their social code. This is why the response to pro life guys is always
>You'll never date a girl! You'll never get laid!
It has nothing to do with the actual topic of abortion because they aren't capable of talking about it. In truth they don't actually care about the subject, they are socially conditioned. They could easily be made into prolife people if they were habitually made to feel smart for being prolife and if you gave them permission to mock pro abortion people.

At the risk of sounding like "my dad works at Nintendo," I used to work at a very exclusive restaurant that would service high profile politicians and you basically have nailed the idea.

A lot of these people are very publicly oppositional but in private they see one another as colleagues. More accurately, as co-conspirators. Their children date each other. They all go to the same golf courses, go to the same high society parties, etc. They literally will watch porn together like some kind of cringe frat. It's a big club and you ain't in it.
