Talking base model, the AC/10 is more than enough to cripple the light mechs it is meant to deter in a single shot and enough to cause some mediums to worry. Problem has never really been the gun but more the lack of ammo so a Hetzer comparison does seem more appropriate.

Now if you want a Matilda comparison then I'd say something like the basic Hoplite. Yeah base model is armed with the same AC/10 as the Urbie but while that is quite a powerful gun on the Urbie, here being the only main weapon paired with an LRM5 makes it chronically underarmed. Hell even the bitch ass Shadow Hawk outguns it which is embarrassing enough. Hoplite's only saving grace is the thickish armour as you put it as it is not really fast or mobile enough to run away if it gets into trouble. UrbanMech may be slow but its jump jets give it a huge tactical advantage and way to retreat in built up areas.
