It's a good class, definitely now the reigning noob friendly class. Really tanky and great at staggering and unlike the ogryn you get good ranged and grenade choices. The dog is a bit of a noob trap though and you're better off doing the no dog keystone at higher difficulties. Take the Arbites grenade and make sure you get the node that turns spend stamina into toughness regen. I do shield + club and then the long-ranged version of the arbites shotgun. Castigator's Stance and the charge are good but the nonce aquila sucks. Middle and right are the best final keystones imo
