The extended used the ox but, the best version of the movie is actually a fan edit listed as "Alien 3 THIRD CUT by 15MaF" definitely worth the watch cause it cuts the extended in with the theatrical so it includes the dog, the ox and the better ending of Ripley clutching the chest burster to her chest.
