I'm realizing that computer science is fundamentally about programming and applied maths, neither of which I'm really interested in, so I'm considering a pivot to the electromechanical -> mechatronics / robotics pathway instead.

What do you think?

I don't think I could compete as a software engineer, especially in the modern market and especially without the passion a lot of people have for it. I'm not sure I want to work as a technician in a factory somewhere either though, on the other hand. I guess I was imagining a scenario in which I come up with an app or build a device, or start some kind of business. A 10 year plan that involves modular customizable domestic robots, idk.

Is that stupid?
