If Dragon's Lair counts as a real video game, there was a Saturday morning cartoon based on it that was passable at the time. Again, Dragon's Lair is a glorified laser disc menu selection so it's a stretch to call it a video game in the first place.
The show had a unique quirk in that when Dirk was in trouble they'd show you "what if" he picked the wrong solution and got killed (no blood, like the game), then restart and do it right.
Oddly enough it wasn't animated by Don Bluth studios (original animator for the game) but Ruby-Spears productions (Scooby Doo Where are You?, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and Mr. T).
