As another example, Galaxy Fraulein Yuna. The majority of the plot of the games/shows follow that trope hard. The main character's list of powerful allies is huge, and they were all (but one) former enemies that were subsequently befriended. But then at the same time they stick obvious crucifixion imagery in there, the MC is simultaneously incredibly powerful yet desperately wants to avoid killing, etc. The interesting twist that's different from Vash is that here we see what happens when the Christ character gets pushed a bit far and doesn't have to fight, but snaps, delivering swift and brutal justice. Though we do see it with Wolfwood.
