Dont know about Roadside Picknick but Stalker doesnt have such complicated reason, its simply because its a warzone of criminals with sci-fi horrors sprinkled on top so its not exactly a feminine enviroment. I know there's women in Stalker 2 but its like what, 4? You dont even run into others out in the field so the fact still stands, women simply dont venture into the zone because its too dangerous and/or they have no obligation to do so.
