I would not go as far as saying I love him but I am weirdly enamored with Dr. Terry Thirteen. He is a character who pops up weirdly often but who has not had a proper appearance since the 50s, discounting Architecture and Mortality as that comic does not really focus on him and is really more of a meta essay of sorts.
The main thing that has me caught up about him is that he is notable enough to get consistent cameos but no one can keep his characterization straight because his foundational concept just can not work in modern Comics. He is a skeptic who went around exposing fake supernatural events but flirted with the idea that the supernatural was real. This is close in several ways to Phantom Stranger, which is why the two were paired together for a time, but while PS was able to shed his ambiguity as the DC universe became more cohesive Dr. 13 is literally no one without his skepticism.
He has been further complicated by the fact he was given a magic wielding daughter Traci, directly linking his modern inherent self contradiction to his character, but her creator fucked up because her ethnicity means she literally can not be Thirteen's daughter as it currently stands. As you can probably tell my main interest in him lies in trying to figure out ways to make his concept work in the modern day without having to make too many compromises. One of these days I do want to try and put my ideas to paper to see if they actually work.
