Don't be afraid to ask anons, I like those threads because I can't stand /g/ anymore, and here I've got ponies and less annoying anons who put tech sentences in their posts.
Well, I've got a barely pony related, low effort tech project - bought a cheap used Surface Pro 4 and pen, will try to put Linux on it and maybe maybe maybe hopefully start drawing /bale/ tier ponies to relax. I reminded myself a smile I had after redrawing a pony picture during some Mare-itory Control with just mouse, maybe this will reduce stress as well.

Yeah, I'm not an UX designer but just personally I find it counterintuitive rather often. Some people claim it's a ripoff of macOS (and KDE therefore is a ripoff of Windows UX), but at least on macOS you can still minimize windows, there is still a system tray, etc.
I was testing Fractal (Matrix chat client written for GTK) on GNOME since once every sometimes I like to check what's up on the other side of Linux desktop, but I found it very bizarre that by default:
>there is no minimize button
>there is no tray to which app could be hidden, with a new message indicator
>close button on window bar exits the app fully
This is uncomfortable for a communication program, which I would assume an average person wants to keep running to not miss new messages, but also doesn't want it to stay in foreground all the time. What, am I supposed to move its window to a virtual desktop? Not a terrible solution, but really counterintuitive.
At least GNOME as patched by Ubuntu is less confusing, when you're coming from Windows, KDE or even macOS, but the sour taste remains.
