I remember a clip of Sam saying something like "it's so good: if you don't like it, you are undeniably stupid" several months ago. It's fascinating he has such a distorted view of his own output. Episode one was nothing more than a lukewarm rehash of their old ideas, with a bit of incoherent comedy sawdust to bulk out the running time. I feel bad for Nick and Charls, who I like, but they're both victims of Sam's need to surround himself with retarded, sycophantic yes-men. It's a familiar trajectory for artists who develop a reputation for pushing the needle - they lose their edge, then basically end up plagiarising themselves. I'll watch ep 2, but if it's as dull, I'm done with it.
