Meanwhile Sapphire blushing in ORAS is often used as a red herring, to give off the impression she's the one more emotionally invested in her relationship with Ruby. Because in comparison Ruby rarely blushes, I think most of the exceptions are Sapphire related but even then it's subdued. But in reality it's not that he doesn't feel anything, he's just that repressed and operating on a different emotional scale than Sapphire (who has always been a sperg). Which all becomes apparent later on, when as far back as RS it's actually Sapphire who keeps suggesting they break up, and Ruby who keeps acting vaguely suicidal at the thought of being apart from her.

Interesting stuff, though ORAS still sucks.
