It's sort of a habit I picked up from playing OpenRCT2 and becoming obsessed with microcoasters and realistic looking miniparks. Previously I'd just play as tribals or medieval in rimworld but I think the biggest town I made was loosely inspired by Meiyerditch from Runescape and really haphazard and mazelike so it was horrible to play in.
>What issues are you trying to solve, exactly?
Well the big one is trying to create a functional yet haphazard industrial revolution era city with efficient factories. Last time I played I tried something similar but the factories were too big and couldn't be operated by my first or second generation colonists in a reasonable timeframe. So reframing this and making smaller micro factories and supply chains seem like it would be a much easier time. Lack of good photographs or paintings of the time that show harbor and industry specifically.

Basically trying to A) triage my supply chains even with my 300+ mods so I can have a reasonable goal at every stage, and B) make those as compact and minimal as possible with probably 1-3 workers to a single micro factory depending on what it's making with a goal of supplying all future colonists and having surplus as stockpile and to sell. Still trying to decide if I should use the outskirts of my 600x600 tile map outside my city site to be farmlands to (hopefully) not be reliant on Farming Outposts for input but I could easily do that as well to fulfill inputs.

There's a surprising amount I need to do and I'm just making a checklist and trying to figure out all utilities, supply chains, housing, and any other required buildings or infrastructure before I start.
