How do you make those things? You can't make them in vanilla but perhaps you are using some cheat mod.

I got 5 of those laying around in vanilla. Never use them as the idea of having a pawn shoot his load only to then be unarmed doesn't seem to weigh up against the benefits of it. Perhaps for use against a siege or some shit it could work, especially early game. Same sort of goes for the orbital bombardment targeters which at least have the benefit of only taking up the utility slot.

That said, these weapons (like some xenotypes) were merely designed for raiders attacking you. I just have them laying around until I feel a bit cheeky.

anyone had issues with the "Whites only" mod not applying the selected melanin levels to pawns received from events (wanderer etc)
luckily I found the xml where the skin tones are listed, removing the unwanted ones seemed to do the trick, wanderer pawns now have the correct skin

for me, i make it a size where i can get to the defensive positions in time.
that means - if it's a square in the middle of the map - i can make it about half again as large as what you have there before i have issues.
you won't have big issues with hunger with normal base sizes, provided you cook meals and don't eat paste.

I want a place where I can accomodate a royal from my pawns, put some garulen trees (protected by a wall), have some kitchen and nuetrient paste (for the kids and visitors/prisoners) and the rooms (I'll make small rooms, exept for the royal), but I have noe idea of the optimal place to put anything so they don't die before reaching from one place to another (like this dude who is making some shirt, then gets hungry, and goes eat, but falls unconscicious due extreme hunger because he didn't stop midway their shirt making).

The colony's been going super well! I built a ton of metal friends to help around while Mancini and Andrea went on that expedition of theirs!
I also made new friends and one also has a fluffy tail and ears like me! Celia doen't like us that much since we had to remove her left because it was stinky but I'm sure it'll grow back and she'll be fine.
Oh, and we even got 2 new crows and a hat for me! And as soon as the other ratkeen (Syl told that's what she's called) gets out of bed I'm sure she'll join too!

This is on a mixed biome glacial plain that's covered in snow about 40 days out of the year so the indoor fields ended up being necessary. I usually have a kibble and hay stock that fills up all the shelves in the pen and the pen kitchen, but I fucked up and didn't slaughter some pigs, goats, and ducks that joined without me noticing while half my pawns were away on the gravship. When I made it back to base I realized my animal feed stores were critically low and culled them all, but the damage was done.

I usually make my kibble by ritually summoning entities for twisted flesh until I have enough to process all my hay (my pawns love human flesh and insect meat, so that goes into meals), but I also wasn't doing rituals with half my pawns up in space pillaging asteroids and mech hives.

seriously though, what are the implications of "every playthrough is canon"?

I got a bunch of Elite Mercenaries to kill a mech cluster. I accepted the quest right after unleashing the monolith. I have gotten the quest rewards and even went out of my way to clear any remaining mech buildings from that pod. The Soldiers remain under my command. Luckily I built a barracks for them and currently have enough food though shuttles make getting more food trivial.
I guess some outlanders trying to make a few silver helping take out some mechs will witness the unknown horrors alongside me.
