Hopefully, the next game features a space Red Prince or a wacky midget that deviates from the BORING elf-centric mold that gave us Sebille and Shadowheart and Astarion. Clearly, a more heterogeneous cast will alleviate the issue of some companions being favored over others because they are the designated conventionally attractive but ultimately BORING romances. This is because sacrificing the appeal of the companions for increased diversity is an excellent trade-off in general. Fewer Shadowhearts and Astarions, more Sazzas and Barcuses, please. Great RPGs are built on contrarianism.
