It isn't that hopeless, recent cups have been a historically good era for /jp/ and we came into this cup on the best back-to-back run of three results we've ever had. We're not in a bad era this just a bad cup for us. Exactly two years ago we nearly won a cup and made the final after finishing third in the one before. We came in on a good preseason we won both friendlies (one using the same export as this cup) and tried to be unique and run something no-one else was running in this cup where a lot of teams have ran the same thing as before or copied successful teams, drew a very bad group for what we have and it hasn't worked at all. We'll take the L this time but promise to do better next cup and play a it a lot safer and more sensible.
Realistically this cup is probably a write-off as only a 12 goal swing miracle would advance us, but we can still exit this cup with a face-saving win or draw and look forward to a V-shaped recovery in Autumn on a PES nearly every other team has no experience with so on a level playing field for most of us. A similar thing happened last year with a version change a lot of teams we no practice with and other manager-kun got us successfully through that last year and delivered too good results for /jp/, he'll be take the lead again in Autumn and I believe in him.
But honestly the real the star of this cup has been (you) the fans. Things haven't been good on the pitch but everything else has been very good for /jp/ lately and the support we've seen is outstanding, from first time viewers, to returning fans, ex-managers and backroom helpers that have supported us and drawfreinds who've made OC for us Personally I'm sorry I've disappointed you all with the export, but we'll try today and we'll do our best to recover in Autumn.
In the meanwhile though we do welcome all help and if any anons would like to get involved, soon we're going to have a blank canvas to work with again, so there has never been a better time to get involved or learn PES autism with us. We still have one last match coming up later today and we also have some Touhou divegrass coming after the cup finishes so stay tuned for information on that later.
