I've thought a lot about this exact phenomenon and I don't really think it holds up. Obviously theres a lot of shitholes in the world, but the thing that stands out in particular about india is how fucking proud they are of it. Africa is very rapidly developing and improving their quality of life because they actually acknowledge their issues and therefore do their best to fix them. If you point out the garbage, rape, and corruption in India to in Indian they'll just deflect and throw insults at you or your country, or they'll claim its all lies, or you're secretly pakistani or whatever. India isn't just a shithole, India is a shithole that very vocally believes they're the greatest place on earth and all others are inferior and should have their cultures replaced with their shitty one.

They're proud, pompous arrogant assholes and thats why they're stuck living like immoral cavemen while the rest of the world improves. They're too proud and spiteful to accept that ANYTHING is wrong.
