Somewhere along the line people forgot that Star Wars is just a collection of random shit that George Lucas likes crammed into a semi-original movie saga
Time you guys realized Star Wars without George Lucas just plain sucks. It's a conveyor belt of endless slop for a franchise machine with no soul or personality. I love Star Wars, but I fucking hate "Star Wars" franchise and its fans, if you catch my drift.

Not *his* Star Wars. Again, you are just cinematically and culturally illiterate, like most Star Wars fans. Educate yourself:

No. You are wrong for looking at Star Wars as an "IP" in the first place.

Star Wars wasn't originally just some corporate IP like Marvel/DC. It has become so massive and ingrained in pop culture that it's easy to forget it was made by one guy at his own personal studio, it's arguably the most successful indie movie of all time.

Lucas basically poured his soul into those movies, virtually every scene, every character, every event and line of dialogue his hand-crafted by this guy and is a reference to something Lucas did, or Lucas liked, or Lucas believed in. Anybody other than Lucas trying to make a Star Wars movie is like trying to draw a self-portrait of somebody else - it just doesn't work. Star Wars *is* George Lucas. It is his entire character expressed through art. There is no Star Wars without George Lucas. It's that simple. There is just a bunch of imitations that use the setting. But none of it is Star Wars. It misses the point, it lacks the soul by definition if it wasn't made by George Lucas.
