I upgraded from 22 to 22.1 using the update manager. I didn't open a terminal at all. I don't even know HOW to do that upgrade with the terminal.
Upgrading from 21.3 to 22, I did a fresh install from a bootable USB drive. I don't remember opening the terminal for that either; Linux Mint has a USB image writer tool.
And if by "upgrade Linux Mint" you actually mean "install package updates on Linux Mint" then that's all done in the update manager too. I know there's some `apt` command to update packages but I've never used it. This thing tells me when updates are available and click the button to install them.
