>get Sonic Adventure for Christmas of 2000 as a kid
>love it
>buy a Gamecube later on
>see Sonic Adventure DX in a Walmart one day, didn't even know it came out
>"Whoa, it's like Sonic Adventure but with better graphics!"
>buy it
>love it again
>years later, baffled to learn that a sizeable number of obese retards think DX is some kind of abomination that ruins the original work
>constantly see this hit piece of a website brought up during discussion: https://dreamcastify.unreliable.network
>tl;dr: "Ackshually, DX is SHIT and most people think Sonic Adventure sucks because they've only played DX and not the terribly misrepresented DC version that's way better!"
>indulge the autism and actually read through a good 80% of the content, give it a fair shot
>most of the proposed "downgrades" (as the site calls them on every page) are subjective bullshit like different textures (that typically look better than the originals) that the article author tries to paint as some whopping oversight just because he prefers the originals, even if there's nothing inherently wrong with the changes
>the few legitimate gripes are barely noticeable and mostly isolated to a small number of areas in the game; not to mention most are pedantic as fuck, e.g. "This one tiny texture in this one spot that you may never even notice is actually compressed to 16x16 down from 32x32! Game ruined LOL"
>almost completely glazes over the vast number of improvements DX has, like tons of additional geometry, shadows added to the environment in places where they were missing in the original game, and so on
>all of this on top of having a framerate double that of the DC (60 vs 30), significantly better looking character models and animations, better controls and greatly expanded content
It's time to admit that DX on Gamecube is the best version of the game, and that any of its flaws are massively overblown by fat deranged men online.
