That is true from my own personal experience, men don't ask about your personal shit but women will. But also from my own personal experience, they do not give a single shit about you as a person and instead are just interested in gossip and backstab material. Even with close family females I learned to be very selective (read: not talking about anything personal at all) because otherwise any opinion or weakness I told would get turned around to make me seem bad and fuck me over in some way. It's true that with males you have to start sharing yourself and obviously still be selective, but usually they keep the weird loser feeling I lament to themselves. Literally every women I ever told anything told someone else for social gain, attention, or the sheer thrill of creating disturbance.
